Shopping, dining, entertainment, festivals, parks, schools, business….Westmont’s got it all.  A thriving town, Westmont’s got something for everyone.  There are many wonderful dining establishments in Westmont such as Neat, Bakersfield, Pappadeaux, and the Amber Cafe to name a few.  The park district is amazing.  Westmont’s Park District hosts concerts in the park that are heavily attended, and Ty Warner Park puts on one of the best 4th of July festivals/ fireworks shows in the Western burbs.  Great parks, pools and splash parks for the kids are plentiful.  I’ve attended the attended the annual BBQ festival for the last couple of years and have always enjoyed the many award winning ribs.

Incorporated in 1926, Westmont has continued to grow dramatically as a result of booming industry in nearby communities. Affordable housing, quality schools and old-fashioned charm, draw corporate transferees and first-time homebuyers to this established community.  Population approximately 25,000.

Commuter trains reach downtown Chicago in 45 minutes; 28 minutes on the express train. Local bus service is available in and around the area. Westmont is just minutes from I-294 to the East, I-88 located north of the Village, I-355 to the West, and I-55 to the South.

Westmont has a Metra station on the Metra BNSF line, which provides daily rail service between Aurora and Chicago.

Most school-aged children attend classes in District 201. High School students attend Westmont High School, Hinsdale Central, or Downers Grove High Schools.

Westmont has three strip malls; St. James Crossing, Fairview Plaza, and Westmont Shopping Plaza. Also located nearby is Oak Brook Center, an exclusive outdoor Mall featuring 160 stores, including Nordstrom, Sears, Marshall Field’s and Bloomingdales Home Store.

The Westmont Park District maintains 65 acres of land incorporating fifteen parks, nine playgrounds, twelve playing fields and a community center.  The Westmont Yard is a state-of-the-art athletic and family recreation center. The facility features a 60 yard x 90 yard rubber infill turf field with 36 skylights providing natural light onto the field during the day.  The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, covers 1,700 acres and is made up of gardens of various plant types and collections of trees from specific taxonomical and geographical areas. The Arboretum has programs and activities year round for everyone.
